St. Cyril PREP offers catechist instructed classes for students in Level 1 thru Level 7. Levels 1 thru 5 follow a specific core curriculum which is in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Office of Catechetical Formation. All classes begin in September and end in early May.
The curriculum for Levels 6 and 7 is focused on the preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation and conforms with the doctrinal framework correlated to the textbooks published by Loyola Press for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Levels 1 thru 6: You are required to select a first and second choice for the day and class time. Your second choice must not be the same as your first choice… doing so does not guarantee your selection. Classes are assigned by the date of registration, day/class time availability, and a sufficient number of catechists/assistant catechists.
Level 7: There will be one (1) class offered on Sunday Morning and two (2) classes on Tuesday Evening (subject to change based on registration and catechist availability). Classes will be located in the Rectory Basement and the Social Hall.
– Early Registration – Begins Sunday, May 16th at 12:00 a.m. and ends Friday, June 18th at 11:59 p.m.
– Regular Registration – Begins Sunday, June 20th at 12:00 a.m. and ends Friday, August 20th at 11:59 p.m.
– Late Registration – Begins Sunday, August 22nd at 12:00 a.m. and ends Tuesday, August 31st at 11:59 p.m. (over)
TUITION PLAN: A tuition payment is required for both the in-person and home based programs because of incurred expenses. Fortunately, we do not incur a salary expense due to the generosity of those who volunteer their time and talent to teach our parish children. The tuition is necessary to offset the expenses for textbooks for staff and students, paper, printing, teaching supplies, etc.

TUITION WAIVER: Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, who volunteer as a Catechist, Assistant Catechist, Office Assistant, Safety will have the tuition waived for the year regardless of the number of children. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia requires all volunteers who may have regular contact with children to obtain background checks prior to commencing volunteering. CLASS ASSIGNMENT CHANGE REQUESTS: A class assignment email will be sent to parents or guardians on or about August 23, 2021. A change in day or time will be considered based on availability and on a first come, first serve basis. The Change Period begins August 24, 2021 and ends September 3, 2021. Change requests must be submitted in writing via e-mail to Cathy Milnik email@example.com. Please Indicate the initial assignment day and class and then indicate the day and class you desire to enroll your child(ren). You will receive an e-mail informing you whether the change could or could not be implemented.

Using the “Finding-God, Our Response to God’s Gifts” curriculum from Loyola Press. Classes meet on Monday and Tuesday Afternoon from 4:45 pm to 6:00pm and on Monday Evening from 6:30pm to 7:45 pm.
Level 2 – We are introducing a new program this year, “Blessed” from the Dynamic Catholic Institute, which provides resources for life and faith development. The “Blessed “curriculum will prepare our young children for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. This is an In-person religious education class beginning September 13th & 14th and is taught by a catechist in a classroom setting. . Classes meet on Monday and Tuesday Afternoon from 4:45 pm to 6:00pm and on Monday Evening from 6:30pm to 7:45 pm.
Level 6 – In-person religious education classes begins September 13th & 14th and is taught by a catechist in a classroom setting. Level 6 is the First-Year of our Two-Year Confirmation Preparation program utilizing the “Called to Be Catholic” curriculum form Loyola Press. This program emphasizes specific elements of our Catholic Faith introducing our young people to the Sacrament of Confirmation and facilitates a smooth transition to Level 7. Classes meet Monday and Tuesday afternoon from 4:45 pm to 6:00 pm and Monday Evening from 6:30pm to 7:45 pm.
Level 7 – In-person religious education class is taught by a catechist in a classroom setting. This is the Second-Year in our Confirmation Preparation utilizing the “Confirmed in the Spirit” curriculum from Loyola Press. These classes begin Sunday Morning, September 19th from 10:00am to 11:15am and on Tuesday Evening, September 21st from 6:30pm to 7:45pm.and conducted every other week.
HOME SCHOOL PREP: New requirement effective this PREP Year – – All Home School Students are participants of St. Cyril’s PREP Program and members of this community and as such are required to participate in designated activities required of In-Person Students i.e. Forty Hour Devotion, Advent/Lenten Confession (except Level 1), Good Friday Living Stations, etc. The dates and times of the designated activities will be available on the program calendar. Home School Sessions for Levels 1 thru 6 will be held beginning on September 13, 2021 and ending on May 2, 2022.

The parent/guardian who will be teaching their children is required to attend an orientation meeting (TBD) as well as the Confirmation Information Meeting on October 6, 2021.
