2019-2020 PREP REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
All classes begin in September and end in May. We offer catechist instructed classes for students in Levels 1 thru Level 7. Levels 1 thru 5 follow a specific core curriculum which is in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Office of Catechetical Formation. The curriculum for Levels 6 and 7 is focused on the preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation and conforms with the doctrinal framework correlated to the textbooks published by Loyola Press for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Monday Afternoon 1 thru 6 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Monday Evening 1 thru 6 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Tuesday Afternoon 1 thru 6 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday Evening* Level 7 (only) 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday Morning* Level 7 (only) 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Levels 1 thru 6: You are required to select a first and second choice for the day and class. Your second choice must not be the same as your first choice… doing so does not guarantee your selection. Class assignments will be based on the date and time of registration and availability.
*Level 7: Classes to be held on Sunday Morning (10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) and Tuesday Evening (6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.), meeting twice per month. We anticipate there will be 4 classes with 2 being held in the rectory classrooms and 2 held in the portable classrooms. NOTE: Since this is a new level, on a new day and time…there may be changes necessary to ensure the reasonableness and practicality of conducting these classes.
EARLY REGISTRATION – begins 12:00 a.m. March 31st and ends April 30th at 11:59 p.m.
REGULAR REGISTRATION – begins 12:00 a.m. May 5thand ends July 15th at 11:59 p.m.
LATE REGISTRATION – July 16th or later for current PREP families
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE: Registered families of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Parish have priority in PREP registration and acceptance into the program. Families who are not registered parishioners of St. Cyril’s may be considered if registered in a Catholic parish, regularly supports the parish, and satisfies all Church requirements to be a Catholic in good standing. SACRAMENT FEES – Should your son or daughter be receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist or Confirmation the $50.00 fee will be added to your total during the registration process.
LATE REGISTRATION – The length of our total registration period is approximately 14 weeks or 102 days, 24 hours a day during which you may register for PREP from your home, work, airport, train, vacation, on your cell phone, I-pad, tablets, etc. This is a reasonable and ample amount of time to register your children and to avoid the hassle of a late registration. All current PREP families who register after July 15th will be assessed a $35.00 late fee, placed on a waiting lists, and may face the probability of not obtaining their preferred day or time for classes.
TUITION WAIVER: Parents, Guardians, Grandparents who volunteer to be Catechist, Assistant Catechist, Substitute Catechist, or Office Assistant will have the tuition waived for the year regardless of the number of children. CLASS ASSIGNMENT CHANGE REQUESTS:
The Class Assignment Announcement will be via e-mail to parents and guardians on or about August 1, 2018
Changes in day or time will be considered based on availability and on a first come, first serve basis.
Change request must be submitted via email
The Change Period is August 12th thru August 23rd
Requests must be submitted via e-mail to Carol Anghelone at firstname.lastname@example.org. Indicate the initial assignment day and class and then indicate the day and class in which you desire your child to be enrolled.
You will receive an e-mail informing you if the change could be accomplished and information related to the change.
We will do all that is possible to honor your change request.
- NOTE: Changes after the start of PREP will only be considered for family medical situations, change in parent/guardian work schedule, transportation changes, etc. not for any sports, dance, gymnastic or community programs, etc. All requests must be submitted via e-mail to Carol Anghelone at canghelone@ saint-cyril.com.
